Affiliate Marketing Tip - Using Twitter to Find Your Target

If you are participating in Skip McGrath's affiliate program, here is another tip for promotion. Leverage the power of Twitter which has between 10 and 15 million users (depending on which authority you reference). This must be done carefully and professionally.

1. Shorten your affiliate link to Skip's free newsletter using TinyUrl.com or another link-shortening site. You can save the shortened link to use over and over again. Twitter only allows 140 characters so we want to maximize the space with real words that can be searched on.

2. Go to Twitter and start searching for words and phrases that could indicate someone is looking for a way to work from home, make money online, or has changed job status. Some suggestions are:

lost my job
lose my job
downsized
out of work
laid off
quit my job
work at / from home
make money from home
home business

The search box looks like this:

3. Next, look through the results. You will see a lot of junk that won't apply. Look for people who may be a candidate to read Skip's newsletter and learn about eBay. Here is an example of a tweet you could reply to:

4. Respond to comments with your target keywords using the @ symbol. In this case, I would say something like,

Not only will that person see your tweet, but others will see it also and anyone who searches for the keywords in your tweet will see it.

Remember that you want to get people to sign up for the free newsletter. People love freebies and this gets the person into the system so if they buy anything within the next year, you get the commission. Let Skip do the selling through the newsletter.

Add this technique to the other affiliate marketing techniques. Spend at least 15 minutes a day on these online marketing tasks and allow at least 90 days to start seeing results.
